5 Best Coffee Shops To Work From In West Denver

Finding quality coffee shops to work from can be a challenge.

You need perfect blend of reliable wifi, comfortable seating, accessible electrical outlets, good music, and delicious drinks. Ideally, these features would be present in every coffee shop.

However, we’ve learned that not all coffee shops in Denver have the essentials needed for a day of productive work.

We’ve been creating custom e-Learning programs and videos from coffee shops for the past few years. After experimenting with a variety of locations, we’ve found the best coffee shops in Denver for the remote worker.

Since we live in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, our favorite coffee shops are all located on the west side of Denver: LoHi, Sunnyside, Highlands, Edgewater, and Wheat Ridge.

If you’re looking for quality coffee shops just outside of the city, here are our top five:

 1. Bardo Coffee House

Our all-time favorite coffee shop. Probably in the entire world. Bardo Coffee House has a ultra-cozy vibe and a delicious array of drink options. Whether you enjoy sitting or standing while you work, Bardo offers plenty of seating options for all preferences. Chill, relaxing music and a fireplace for those frigid Colorado mornings. Plus, their loyalty program is on point. For every ten drinks, you get one free! Open from 6am to midnight, this shop is your best bet for productive work around the clock.

2. Novo Coffee Highlands

This quaint, local coffee shop is a must-visit if you’re in the Highlands area. But make sure you get there early. Novo Coffee has delicious home-brewed coffee, but the interior is pretty small. If you’re planning to find a seat, make sure you arrive before 9:00am. If you get hungry, Novo has tasty, locally-made burritos available. Plus, for all you plant-based eaters out there, they often carry a delicious vegan burrito with homemade salsas.

3. Pinwheel Coffee

As a newer coffee shop in LoHi, Pinwheel Coffee, has a unique story. The shop was created entirely by high school students in the community as an opportunity to learn about business and entrepreneurship. Brilliant idea!

With stellar wifi and good coffee options, Pinwheel also has a range of seating options. If you prefer to stand, the bar top overlooking the street is a solid option. Full transparency, Pinwheel loses a few points as it’s not quite a cozy as the other shops on this list. The chairs aren’t the most comfortable and the music choice is rather sporadic. Sometimes it’s mellow jazz. Other times it’s hardcore punk. But overall, this shop is quiet, has a low-key vibe, and is never overly busy. A solid, reliable coffee shop if you’re in the LoHi area.

4. Cherry Bean Coffee Sunnyside

The Cherry Bean Coffee has been so successful that they’ve recently opened up another location in DTC. With walls filled with beautiful custom dog paintings and an extensive drink menu, this spot is perfect for popping in for a day of work. The owner is very friendly and is always changing up the menu with new treats and unique drink offerings. Plenty of seated chairs to work at, but no standing room if that’s your preference. A superb coffee shop that fits in well with the fast-growing town of Sunnyside.

5. Coda Coffee Edgewater

Located right across from Sloan’s Lake, Coda Coffee comes stocked with laid-back baristas and delicious coffee options. While the location is excellent, Coda loses points for seat comfort. None of their seats have backs and their tables are extremely small for working with a laptop. There are individual high-top tables that work for standing, but they are still small in size. Other than the seating, the wifi and drinks are on point. A good coffee shop to spend a few hours on the laptop.
